Free Eye Camps
According to WHO – NPCB survey about 1.5 % of the Indian population is
economically blind.
Our community out – reach programmes form a vital link to the rural masses. Our
Screening camps take sight to the villages. The patients in the villages lack money and
facilities. Our Free Eye Camps try to overcome both these by providing free services
at their doorstep.
Prevention of Blindness in School children
About 2,000 children become blind every year in India – due to infection, injuries
malnutrition and congenital causes.
Luke Memorial Eye Hospital has a regular programme for screening School children.
Our Mobile unit visits schools and examines the children free.
Scholarship for Blind Students
In India 55 Million people are visually handicapped.
Only 10% have access to any form of education.
As part of our rehabilitation project we offer financial help by way of Annual
Scholarships to 39 students every year studying in different Colleges in the State.
