Luke Eye Hospital was established in 1986 as a charitable Hospital in association with
The society of St. Vincent De Paul, Netherlands
and
The Sight Savers (Royal Common Wealth Society for the Blind), U. K.
The late Dr. A. Q. C. Van Ruiten, the then National President of Society of St. Vincent De Paul (SSVP), Netherlands was closely associated with Luke Eye Hospital from the very inception of our institution. He was instrumental in making available highly sophisticated equipments and financial support to our hospital. SSVP - Netherlands also help us in all our charitable projects.
We greatly treasure our association with the The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, Netherlands.
An eye hospital with a missionary spirit. An eye hospital that would bring the best eye care for the rich and the poor with love and compassion. Luke Eye Hospital stands for this mission.
Late Sri. M. L. LUKE
He was a visionary, a pioneer, a philanthropist and above all a very warm
and understanding individual.
He was close to the heart of all of us. He inspired our lives with his personality.
Now he is lost to us. We will live up to his values and vision.
Late DR. A.Q.C. VAN RUITEN
Doctorate in law and sociology from University of Leiden-Netherlands.

Western Province. Zuid-Holland.

1990-1996 - Private management Consultant & Legal adviser

1948 - on wards- Active member and office bearer, National & Inter National Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
Was active as Board member /Office bearer in a large number of social organisations in Netherlands.
Decorations
1972 Knight in the order of St. Gregory by the Pope.
1992 Officer in the order of ORANGE-NASSAU by the Queen of The Netherlands.
Dr. A. Q. C. Van Ruiten passed away on January 18th 2006. .
His life was an inspiration, his memory is a benediction.

Our beloved Patron passed away on July 28, 2000.
Every time you touched our hearts with a little act of love, of inspiration, of encouragement, you made yourself immortal.
